1930's Raleigh

The finished product, well nearly, just gotta get some new tyres!
Alas I am coming to the last few days of my holiday, it's been an incredible 6 weeks!
Time to knuckle down again and start focusing on work AND my next build!

I have acquired an old Raleigh Scorpian in dire condition. Will post some pics asap as well as photos of its journey back from the dead!

Till then I'll post more random photos of bikes from Wellington and the surrounds.
Enjoy...

My ride for the day

Not the best bike I've ridden, still a bit of fun though.
Some of the other rides up there today.

NYC

B and myself rollin through Manhattan

West Coast

A recent trip up the West Coast of NZ resulted in a load of xc trails.
Reefton mining trails. A huge network of tracks including being dropped by chopper at the top and riding down as fast as you can. NB: DH bike needed to maximise enjoyment!

The holy grail of local trails as mapped out for me by some great cat in Hokitika
Franz Josef track, short but very sweet!
Very happy about that, thanks DOC and all the locals who put in tons of hours keeping the tracks rideable!

Long weekend

The mighty Giant Glory!

Another summer day another DH session.
Whilst shooting in the Sth Island a few of the fellas hit the gondola and tore into skyline (Qtown).

3 AnE visits in 2 days, not bad going.

Up the hill at makara. XC

The workshop

My lounge/workshop.
Full of cycles.

A 30's Raleigh.

1930 Raleigh i found in a seconds store in Nasbey (NZ).
$40, took it home pumped up the tyres and it was ready to ride after hanging on the wall of the old fella's shop for more than 30 years.
Have since stripped it down and re-sprayed it. Am in the process of re assembly now.
This bike is super heavy being all steel.

Look forward to a test ride though!

Peugeot winter beater

Got this frame online, the rest of the bits I had in the shed.
A proper fun bike to throw around!
Have changed the seat to a charge bucket now though.

A bike for the girl!

Here's an old Avanti, also found at the dump.

Italian Saronni I found at the tip

A stunning bike and a great ride!
